How the click speed test works
The timer starts on your first click and every press inside the box is counted until time runs out. Your score is the number of clicks divided by the test length: the clicks per second, or CPS. Your best score for each test length is remembered in this browser only.
What's a good CPS?
- About 6 CPS is typical for normal clicking with one finger.
- 8 to 10 CPS is fast, and common among regular gamers.
- Over 12 CPS usually takes a special technique such as jitter or butterfly clicking.
Shorter tests give higher scores, because nobody can keep their top speed up for a whole minute.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work on a phone or touchpad?
Yes. Taps count the same as clicks. Touchpads with tap-to-click can be slower to register, so a mouse usually scores higher.
My mouse registers two clicks when I press once.
That's a sign of a worn switch, known as double-clicking. Check it with the mouse test.
