How the spacebar counter works
Every time the spacebar goes down, the count goes up by one. In a timed test the clock starts on your first press and your score is presses per second; your best for each length is remembered in this browser only. With No limit there's no clock: it's a simple tally you can reset whenever you like.
The page stops the spacebar from scrolling, so you can press away without the page jumping.
Checking a sticky or skipping spacebar
- Choose No limit.
- Press the spacebar slowly 20 times, at the left end, the middle and the right end.
- The count should match your presses exactly. A lower count means missed presses; a higher one means the key is bouncing.
To test every other key as well, try the keyboard test.
