What each value means
- Screen size is the whole display in CSS pixels, before scaling is undone.
- Window size is the part of the page you can see right now, which changes as you resize the window.
- Pixel ratio is how many real pixels make up one CSS pixel. It matches your display scaling: 1.5 means 150%.
- Colour depth is the number of bits used for each pixel's colour. 24 bits is standard; 30 bits means 10-bit colour.
- HDR shows whether the browser can display high dynamic range on this screen right now.
- Colour gamut is the widest colour range the screen can show: sRGB is standard, Display P3 is wider, and Rec. 2020 is wider still.
Frequently asked questions
The resolution is slightly off from my monitor's spec.
Some browsers round the pixel ratio, so the calculated value can be a few pixels out. Your display settings show the exact figure.
Why does HDR say no on my HDR monitor?
HDR usually has to be switched on in your system's display settings, and not every browser supports it yet.
Can this show my refresh rate?
Yes, on its own page: try the refresh rate test.
